Trump Invites Families of Shot National Guard Personnel to the Presidential Residence
Former President Trump announced on Sunday that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to visit the executive mansion.
He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a attack on Wednesday in DC.
Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
Memorials across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.
White House Offer
The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump addressed reporters. “And in the same way with Andrew, recover or not.”
Public Reaction
Attendees gathered over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to remember Sarah.
Both they had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to assist policing efforts in the capital.
Honoring Sarah Beckstrom
“Sarah was the kind of student that instructors desired. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the head of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the press. “She was sweet, considerate and always willing to help others.”
Funeral details for Sarah are in the process of planning.
Judicial Measures and Government Adjustments
Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder while armed.
The tragedy caused the Trump administration to suspend refugee claims and temporarily stop issuing visas to owners of passports from Afghanistan.
Condition of Wolfe
Wolfe, a native of the city, began his service in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, per the news agency.
He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader the governor mentioned on television.
The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed Fox News Sunday that she also intended to speak to the family.
Impact of the Fallen Soldier
Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and enlisted soon after, serving as a law enforcement officer with excellence, per the military.
“She had a lot of compassion and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her time was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
