Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
At first glance, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might seem mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor pledged a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them few options but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the traitor.
